What is a Valve Positioner?
A valve positioner ensures a control valve opens or closes to the exact position required by the control system. It receives a pneumatic or electronic signal and adjusts air pressure to the actuator, enabling precise, responsive valve movement. This improves flow accuracy and process stability in industries like chemical processing, power generation, oil and gas, and water treatment.

Types of Valve Positioners from Jordan Valve
Top-Mounted Positioner Mounts directly on pneumatic actuators for high sensitivity and fast response with minimal linkage. Best for linear control applications requiring precise modulation. Example: Mark 15 Series
Side-Mounted Positioner Mounts on the actuator yoke using linkage arms to track stem movement. Compatible with pneumatic and electro-pneumatic systems; ideal when top mounting isn’t possible. Example: Mark 16 Series
Smart Positioner Combines digital control with traditional positioning. Accepts 4–20 mA signals, features auto-tuning, integrated diagnostics, and HART/Fieldbus communication. Zero steady-state air consumption. Example: Mark 16IQ Series
Flameproof Smart Positioner Explosion-proof design for hazardous environments (Zone 1/2, Division-rated). CSA, ATEX, and IECEx certified. Example: Mark 17X Series
